When I was a young girl in Brazil, my mom and I used to look through Fashion Magazines and pick out styles we would like to wear. My mom had a talented seamstress who made our vision come to life every time.
When I was twenty years old I moved to California to attend Fashion School at FIDM and graduated with honors. I became a Patternmaker and designer for a clothing company in San Diego and started going to the gym to lose the weight I had gained in college. Soon after that, I switched to Fitness as a profession for a while. For a few years, I was a Personal Trainer, managed a gym, and started my career as a Fitness Competitor and Model. It all came together in 2007 when I combined my love for Fashion and Fitness and launched my first Fitness Wear Company.
When God gave me two daughters I could have never dreamed that one of them would have a passion for clothing and Fashion like I did, and I would be able to share with her what I had shared with my mom decades ago.
We homeschool and the kids are used to work being a part of our day. They have always been with me when we shoot models for Blessed Bodywear, pack orders, take them to UPS, etc. One day Emma asked us if she too could have her own clothing business. Of course, our first reaction was to tell her one day when she grows up... But then talking about it a little more, Terry and I said "Why not?"
Her business Emma Grace is starting as a part of Blessed Bodywear. Emma helps pick out the styles and she helps style the outfits. She and I pack the orders together and take them to the Post Office. Emma will learn the complexity of running her own business by taking on more responsibilities as she gets older.
She is so proud of herself. :) And we are so proud of her!!!
